At Magnotta, we’ve been true believers in the potential of Ontario as a wine region from the very beginning. And that gave us a lot of confidence to ask bold questions. Why can’t we make an Amarone-style wine right here in Canada just like the Italians by using Ontario grapes? Or big reds to rival Bordeaux and California? How about Passito-style dessert wines? Why shouldn’t we try unusual varietals like Muscat Ottonel and Gewürztraminer? And make an Ice Cider on par with Quebec? Thanks to our wonderful terroir, we’ve done all that. And much more.
