8:00 AM: Breakfast at a local restaurant
Start your day off right with a hearty breakfast at one of Kingston’s many impressive restaurants or cafés – local favourites include Pan Chancho Bakery and Café and of course, Morrison’s. Whatever you’re craving, you’ll find it and more in Kingston.
9:00 AM: Shop + Stroll
Take the opportunity to stroll through the downtown core. Not to be missed is Martello Alley – an artist collective featuring local art. Streets and the unique stores of the Brock Street Common including Cooke’s Old World Store (circa 1865). Wander through Market Square and experience the oldest Public Market in Kingston!
10:00 AM: Kingston Trolley Tour
Hop aboard the Kingston Tour Trolley and enjoy a 75-minute narrated tour extolling over 300 years of Kingston’s history – or you may choose to hop on hop off and visit one of museums and attractions en route. View beautiful Lake Ontario waterfront and witness highlights of Kingston¹s Limestone heritage.
11:30 AM: Lunch at a local restaurant
With more restaurants per capita than almost any city in Canada, you’re guaranteed to find a new favourite in Kingston. From scenic waterfront cafés and casual gourmet burgers to impressive culinary creations made with local, seasonal products – eating in Kingston is an art that we embrace.
1:30 PM: Kingston Mills
Take a scenic drive along Highway 15 to Kingston Mills, a historic canal dating from 1832. Watch as the locks are opened and closed for traveling boaters as they were over 180 years ago (by hand), and learn the history of the men who built and guarded this strategic waterway.
3:00 PM: Miller Museum of Geology
Located on the Queens University Campus, the Miller Museum of Geology is where you will find exhibits of fine crystals and fossils. The museum is host to an extensive gallery that is open to all viewers from individuals to educational groups.
3:00 PM: Canada’s Penitentiary Museum (Alternate)
Get your group connected to another culture while in Kingston and explore Canada’s fascinating Penitentiary Museum: an interesting look at the history and development of the Canadian correctional system. Both macabre and mysterious – learn how this part of society exists.
5:30 PM: Kingston 1000 Islands Cruise
Finish off your busy day of sightseeing by enjoying a Sunset Cruise of the 1000 Islands, including a three-course gourmet meal and music under the stars with Kingston 1000 Islands Cruises. Live theatre and dinner packages are also available to round off a picture-perfect day.
8:00 PM: Kingston Haunted Walks
Experience Kingston’s spookier side on The Original Haunted Walk of Kingston, which takes you and your guests through the streets of the limestone city. Or try Ghosts of the Fort which explores the haunting at Fort Henry. All stories are thoroughly researched and will delight even the skeptics in the group!
