Unique and intimate options
The Agnes Etherington Art Centre offers the perfect location for an intimate gathering. Welcome your loved ones at a reception in the centre’s bright, airy atrium. The atrium can also accommodate up to 80 guests for dinner. Access to the on-site art gallery – home to world-renowned works of art – may also be arranged for you and your guests. Historic Etherington House, attached to the art centre, is also an elegant option for small receptions of up to 60 people.
All four Queen’s venues offer a variety of dining options for your celebration. Enjoy a delightful selection of hors d’oeuvres and Prince Edward County wines at your reception. Choose from a variety of three-course dinner options, plus a selection of chef stations. Savour each course, featuring local, seasonal produce prepared fresh on site. You can even pamper your guests with a fun late-night buffet to fuel them after an evening of dancing.
The Donald Hotel & Conference Centre offers both indoor and outdoor venues for your wedding day. Have your ceremony in a private courtyard, followed by an elegant dinner or reception inside historic Roselawn House. This venue is perfect for groups of 35 to up to 120 guests; it also offers 80 on-site hotel rooms (and plenty of parking). Catch up with friends at the cozy Coach House Pub and in the outdoor courtyard.
Your spring and summer wedding options
Two of the Queen’s venues are available for wedding parties only from May to the end of August. During these months, when the campus is less busy for academic activities, it is also a perfect place to gather with your family and friends. Explore the many green spaces of campus and savour your special day in these venues.
The Isabel Bader Centre for the Performing Arts offers not only the most breathtaking lake views in the city but also all the amenities to create the perfect event for you and up to 180 guests. With floor-to-ceiling windows, this magnificent venue is the ideal location for a spring or summer wedding. A lakeside patio and indoor hall are also available for wedding ceremonies. Then celebrate with your guests at a cocktail reception, followed by a sumptuous dinner or late-night buffet.
Ban High Hall has long been the site of many celebrations, from weddings to reunions, since the building opened in 1923. This elegant and historic hall welcomes up to 400 guests for weddings. Featuring a lovely outdoor terrace and private use of the Tower lounge, the hall also has a spacious banquet room – 8,800 square feet – to comfortably seat all your guests.
While very close to downtown Kingston and its many hotel options, the university also offers you the convenience of summer accommodation in a nearby Queen’s residence.
The perfect spots to capture wedding memories
Each of these venues offers unique opportunities for on-site photos, from dramatic formal portraits in the Isabel’s rehearsal hall to informal moments in the Coach House pub.
Let the Queen’s campus be the backdrop for your wedding photos. From historic limestone buildings to the canopy of trees of the arboretum to all the gardens that accent the campus from spring to fall, there is a perfect spot to capture the memories of your perfect day.
